Let's talk about stress

Related to the human state of mind, stress is defined as „a state of mental tension and worry caused by problems in your life, work, etc.“ or „something that causes strong feelings of worry or anxiety“ (source: Britannica.com).

Stress is a natural part of life that happens to us in certain situations – like too much workload or responsibility, emotional issues, loss of job, divorce, death of a loved one or other traumatic events. There are many things that can cause stress and every individual responds differently to certain situations and triggers.

Stress affects how you feel, think, and act since it causes a couple of significant hormonal reactions in your body. Surprisingly, we all need stress to live well! But it is all about the balance: Lack of stress causes us to feel bored and understimulated. Too much stress over an extended period of time increases the risk of severy physical and psychological damages.

Therefore it is extremely important to recognize the signs of stress early enough to prevent stress from worsening and potentially causing serious health problems.

When I was in such a situation not so long ago I was unable to identify my cognitive, physical and behavioral stress symptoms and counteract effectively. Simply because under stress we are not our usual self anymore and cannot see things clearly.

This is why I decided to become a stress coach: Because I want to be the coach I would have needed back then – knowing that there are so many out there that need support. So if you feel stuck and overwhelmed by stress please feel free to get in touch!
